Currency/Exchange
The Czech currency - Czech crown (1 crown = 100 halers).
Exchange rate ( 6.11.2009 ) is 25.87 Kc/ 1EUR , 17,40Kc/ 1 USD.
Electricity
Electricity used in Czech Republic is 220 Volts; standard European system of round pins with two holes. Plan to bring a transformer for your electrical or electronic equipment using different voltage (ie. USA, Canada).
Insurance and Liability
The Organizers will accept no liability for personal injuries sustained by or for loss or damage to property belonging to Conference participants, either during or as a result of the Congress or during all tours and events. Participants are strongly recommended to seek insurance coverage for health and accident, lost luggage and trip cancellation.
Healthcare
When travelling around the Czech Republic you might need medical assistance. You can be sure you will be treated with high European standards. However, we strongly recommend arranging travel insurance before leaving your country.
Official Letters of Invitation
Should you require an official letter of invitation to obtain your visa to enter Czech Republic, please contact us. Please note, however, that the Organisers do not undertake any obligation to pay any expenses incurred by supplying these letters. Furthermore, for some countries, a confirmation of registration with payment may be asked by the authorities.
Passport and Visa Requirements
Visitors from non-EU Countries must possess a passport valid for at least a 3 month stay. Participants requiring a visa should apply immediately to a consular office or diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in their country in order to avoid a delayed arrival to the conference. Please note that the visa application procedure can take up to two months. It is not possible to obtain a visa at the Prague Airport.

Time Difference
The Czech Republic is in Central European Time Zone. Central European Time (CET) is 1 hour ahead of
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1).
Weather and temperature
The Czech Republic has a temperate continental climate, with relatively hot summers and
cold, cloudy and snowy winters. Most rain falls during the summer. The temperature difference
between summer and winter is relatively high, due to the landlocked geographical position.
Last year in May the average temperature was 18-23°C/ during the day and 5-10 °C / at night in Mikulov.
